Cleaning & Care

Your doll is made with loving care from synthetic vinyl. When playing, you may suddenly find your beautiful little friend has gotten dirty! Not to worry, just follow these simple instructions to make sure the little one is taken good care of.

CLEANING YOUR DOLL’S BODY:

  • Avoid Immersing in Water: Never put your doll in water. Some water can stay trapped inside and cause mildew.
  • Surface Cleaning Only: When needed, use a soft cloth, slightly dampened with lukewarm water and a gentle liquid soap to gently clean your doll’s skin surface. After any dirt has been removed, dampened the cloth with water only to remove any residue of the soap. You can allow your doll to air dry or gently use a dry, soft cloth to assist in drying.
  • No Harsh Cleaning Agents: Do not use any type of harsh detergent, soap, or bleach on your doll. Only gentle liquid soap with cool or lukewarm water applied gently with a soft cloth.
  • Do Not Use Heat to Dry: Avoid the use of hair dryers or any other heat-generating
    devices to dry your doll.
  • No Make-up or Markers: Do not put make-up or use any type of marker or pen on your doll, these could permanently stain your doll’s skin.
  • Avoid Long Exposure to the Sun: Color may fade in direct long sun exposure.

CLEANING YOUR DOLL’S HAIR:

  • Wash Only Occasionally: If your doll’s hair gets dirty, you can wash it gently with
lukewarm water and a mild shampoo, such as Baby Shampoo. Avoid frequent washing.
  • Hair Should be Air-Dried: Do not use a hairdryer or any heated element on your doll’s hair. You can use a dry, soft cloth to soak up some of the dampness, then let it air-dry.
  • Style with Curlers or Brush: Do not use a curling iron or any other heat-based styling tool on your doll & hair. Gently style with a brush and/or plain curlers.

CLEANING YOUR DOLL’S CLOTHES:

Both Layla and Cooper come with The Doll For All T-shirt. Our logo is screen-printed on the shirt, so never put it in the washing machine. Hand wash the T-shirt in cool water and gentle soap. Air-dry the T-shirt. Never expose the T-shirt to an iron or any other heated element. The other clothes can technically be washed in the washing machine, but we advice to wash those by hand as well, especially to avoid shrinkage.

How to Play Using the Many Joints of Your Doll

Once you order your doll, you’ll be receiving something beautiful and unique! There has never been an 18” doll with so many joints that it moves so much like a child. These have been meticulously designed by our inventor Rick, and a former Disney Imagineer, Nick. When you receive your doll, there will be instructions with pictures and drawings to explain how best to move your doll to achieve the maximum amount of posability and fun, while still taking care that your doll will last a very long time.

Basically, think of it like this. The human body can move the knee in one direction. If it is forced to move in the opposite direction, it will break. That’s the same with our dolls. They should be moved much like our own bodies. If movement is forced in an awkward direction, they could break. If this happens, please get in touch with us a info@thedollforall.com. We will give you instructions as to how to send the doll back to us for repair and how much we will charge you to fix your doll. The cost of shipping the doll to us and back to you will be your expense. However, this can be avoided by following the instructions that will come with your doll.

It is our hope that this special little one we’re sending to you will be a Legacy Doll that your child can play with for years and then keep in the family as an heirloom!
